What Yoga Poses Are Unsafe During Pregnancy?

But you have to be cautious about certain Yoga poses. In plain words, you should avoid yoga poses that put pressure on your belly. In pregnancy, avoid Hot Yoga classes and intense breathing techniques or Pranayama.

Wheel pose, or Chakrasana wheel pose is a very difficult pose to attempt during pregnancy. Pushing up a big belly bump can put lots of pressure on the lower back. But you can use some support or try a supported bridge pose to relieve your lower back pain.

Forward Folds. Avoid doing all yoga poses that are related to forward folds. During pregnancy, your baby bump grows daily and folds forward, becoming a very tight situation. You might limit the flow of blood to the uterus. You should try a legged forward pose with the help of  Blocks or assistance when you require.  

Bow Pose. Bow pose is difficult to do during pregnancy. Lie on your belly, and stretching up from it will be very uncomfortable and not good for your growing baby. Especially from the second trimester onwards. You could modify or try prenatal modification. E.g., Camel Pose.

Chaturanga To Upward-Facing Dog.  Towards the end of your second trimester, your belly bump gets in the way.   Stretching belly up in pregnancy is not good for baby development. You can avoid this by using blocks to get some extra height. You can try cat and cow pose.

Revolved side angle pose (and deep twist in general), your first trimester is good, but beyond that, it’s not good. Twist your body from your midline, which doesn’t allow your body enough space for your baby.
